Here's a "How to" on building the Army of Darkness prop. As mentioned I got the idea from The Horror Dome (they also sell Halloween Masks, Haunted House Props, Halloween Costumes and offer Free Prop Directions). I didn't take any pictures during the process but will likely make another before Halloween 2003 and will take step by step photos. E-mail me if you have any questions.
Materials Needed: Cheap Plastic Skeletons (4): These are available from stores like Big-Lots, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. Glue Gun: Glue PVC: 1/2 inch X 10 foot section. Rebar: 4 short pieces Black Spray Paint: Plastic Weapons: Sword, etc. ================================================== Step #1: The plastic skeletons have "joints" at the wrist, elbow, shoulder, neck, etc. Use the glue gun to "pose" the skeletons arms in positions to hold the weapons over the head, etc. (see photo). Also glue head and hands and weapon in hands. The legs are not as important, I glued mine and found later it was not required. Step #2: Cut a hole in the bottom of the pelvis in which you will insert a piece of the 1/2 inch PVC. Cut the PVC to match the length of the legs (I leave mine a little long and trim later when placed on rebar). The PVC can be glued after insertion into the hole. (black paint) Step #3: Place the rebar into the ground. Set the PVC over the rebar. I have found that with the legs/ankles glued and the third leg of the PVC they can stand indoors without the rebar.
