This Grave Grabber was built from a kit Doug Holladay
created for the Rocky Mountain Gathering.
Doug created a PVC version of this prop
normally made from metal. We here at the Rocky Mountain Gathering seem to be fond of taking metal props and make poor
man's / lazy man's versions using PVC sprinkler pipe.
This PVC version operates on a wiper motor.
I'll add some video in the next few days. I've added an mp3 sound player ($4.95)
and a cheap pair of computer speakers. Giving him both motion and sound.

I bought the mask and gloves on the final day of
Haunt X. Wish I could remember the name of the company....great
masks and great to deal with. Great last day
discount too! |

The wiper motor provider a very good motion, slow
and deliberate with a great range of motion. |

Here's a behind the curtain look at how I mounted
the motor. The newspaper is there to just keep the shirt from
getting tangled in the mechanism. |
|
Here's a little closer view of the motor and
linkage...which is just a PVC pipe section. I drill a hole in one
PVC joint for the ball on the wiper arm motor. Then changing the
short section of PVC between the two connectors can change the
motion. |

Here you see the newspaper in position with the
shirt ready to be pulled back over it. |
